We urge the TPLF and OLF to be unconditionally classified as terrorists now!
We would first like to express our deepest condolences to the mothers and fathers, brothers and sisters including children whose lives were sacrificed for just being an Amhara.
The persecution and killing of Amharas have been intensified, and not by foreign enemies but by their Ethiopian compatriots. Amharas have been mass murdered, ethnically targeted and in some areas completely cleansed out with greatest cruelty and massacre, which cannot be expressed in words. In Ethiopia, Amharas living in Guraferda; Metekel; Wolkait; Wellega;Maikadra, or even Amharas who are in active military duty and service are losing their lives in a despicable manner for just being an Amhara. This discriminative arrogance is being perpetrated through the cooperation and coordination of the TPLF and the OLF radical separatist turned tyrant organizations that either managed to form a coalition that misgoverned Ethiopia for over 27 years in case of the former, or manage infiltrate the ruling party coalition to coordinate its attacks both from within and outside the government in case of the latter.
The hate propagated by these two organizations and their partners ever since early nineties now got to the point where Amharas are targeted even in the military, the most important body that need to remain neutral. The conspiracy, the false narrative propagated to get Amharas targeted, and all the extremely evil acts performed by these terrorists to eradicate the Amhara people from the face of the earth has so far caused immeasurable pain and suffering. Although, Amharas kept a measured composure through this unbearable journey of discrimination, targeting and murder, we fear that the shear level of cruelty now is unbearable to hear about, watch through or even process. From the level of urgency, despair and anger that we receive from Amharas and other Ethiopians both in our membership and from the nation at large, we warn that it is high time this atrocity is put to a stop! Amharas are realizing that there is absolutely no one coming for help and that they are forced to survive by any means necessary!
We have warned the international community of the severity of the attacks and the need for immediate intervention on our press release dated July 06, 2020 and entitled “We call for the immediate cessation of the genocidal attacks against ethinic Amharas and ethinic Guraghes in the so-called Oromiya Region, Addis Ababa, Harar and Dire Dawa”. The report was sent to all major human rights organizations and news media outlets. Ever since, the attack extended to “Benishangul-Gumuz” and Tigray Regions.
Humanity have to put an end to the reality where hundreds and thousands of Amharas are killed in a span of few days repeatedly. It must stop without any precondition! We recognize that over 45 years of hate propaganda against Amharas, the divisive constitution that was imposed on Ethiopians without any consent or ratification, and the Balkanized ethnic federalism all have their own effect on the present day genocidal attacks against Amharas. While all these are factors that need to be resolved in the near future, the fact that the very agents that instituted these hate factors against Amharas, the TPLF and OLF are able to freely move, even worse given the chance to govern in Ethiopia is the major reason why the ethnic cleansing against Amharas is still ongoing. Hence, we strongly urge the TPLF and OLF to be unconditionally classified as terrorists both in Ethiopia and internationally now!
Given the above:
1. To the distinguished people of Amhara: we urge you to intensify the bitter struggle to bring the TPLF to justice. We appreciate your continued support including by donating blood to those who are sacrificing themselves so this terrorist organization is brought to justice. At the same time, we urge you to call on both the Ethiopian government and the international community so that the TPLF and its ally, OLF, which are a constant threat to your existence, to be classified as terrorist organizations.
2. To all Ethiopians: We are deeply saddened and truly angered by the fact that we keep on hearing the news of new massacre of our people, Amharas, everywhere every day! However, we are asking a clear and concise support from all Ethiopians. We urge you, the people of Ethiopia, to accept our final call to stand together with the victims and call up on the TPLF and OLF to be classified as terrorists unconditionally. Help us to bring them to justice immediately. We also warn all Ethiopians! That the system TPLF and OLF and their cronies built is set out to pit us against each other! If not stopped now these organizations will be a reason for much more atrocity against every Ethiopian of varying identity. We call upon you to stop them at their tracks before worse crimes against humanity are committed!
3. To the brotherly people of Tigray: We do not need to explain to you the daily genocide committed by TPLF on the people of Amhara. We, however, call up on you to bring to justice not only the TPLF-extremist group, but also the TPLF sympathizers who are pursuing TPLF's destructive agenda of exterminating Amharas. People of Amhara and Tigrean identity will continue to live together after TPLF as they have done in the past before the existence of TPLF. Nevertheless, we felt a deafening silence from the majority of Tigreans regarding the abuses the people of Amhara sustained in the hands of TPLF. Harboring TPLF so it continues its inhuman acts against Amharas will be noted as betrayal of Amhara people and your nation Ethiopia at this critical time.
4. We strongly urge the African Union, the United Nations, and all mandated offices of the international community to support our efforts to classify TPLF and OLF organizations as terrorists. The outside world gave a deaf ear to the early warnings of genocide in Rwanda, and later regretted it. We are now witnessing history repeating itself and we are warning you again to save the Amhara people of Ethiopia. So far, you have been silent despite repeated attempts to warn your offices. Once again, we strongly urge you all to proclaim and urge that TPLF and OLF be classified as terrorist organizations unconditionally!
Justice to the people of Amhara who are victims of meticulously and systematically implemented genocide in the nation they help built. Glory to our country, Ethiopia.
